Educating Linguistically Diverse Students
Apache School Practicum

My students are so full of life and stories to tell.  Getting them to write it down on paper is a different story.  Their I am poems are fantastic, with a little encouragement they definitely can do amazing things.  I don't think they realize the extent of what is going to happen with their stories and poems.  They will be pleasantly surprised when they receive their stories printed and in a book and their poems presented to their parents in the form of a bookmark,  This has been a great experience and throughly enjoy my Thursday mornings at Apache.  I have built a nice relationship with my students and know they feel comfortable around me.

The author's chair was a great wrap up for our practicum.  It was so exciting to see parents, siblings, friends and family support.  The support of the community was also exciting as the newspaper did an article and took pictures.  To see an article in the newspaper on the front page next day was awesome.
