Service Learning Workshop

Thursday October 2, 2008

Today was a fun day in the Service Learning Workshop.  We did many fun and intriguing activities through out the day.
We listed strengths and qualities of others we admire in fiction, real life, and famous.  From this we built an admiration quilt and designed a dream city.
Service Learning is project based learning that can span across the curriculum and benefits the community.  We saw a kindergarten class that decorated an emergency room in their hospital for kids who are scared to go the emergency room with their artwork.  Also we saw a determined (I'm guessing) first grader raise enough money to buy safe drinking water wells in Afirca.  This young man created a legacy.  We also learned to create Legacy's and help our student's create legacy's.
We also learned or strengths and intelligences. I learned I am a naturalist, musical and intrapersonal.

We had excellent food!!
